Montgomery Greene Condominiums
Jersey City, New Jersey
Located at Jersey City’s Exchange Place, Montgomery Greene is a new 19-story, 113-unit residential building with ground floor retail and 3 levels of internal elevated parking. Working closely with the project team, LWDMR Architects provided interior design, planning, construction documents and construction period services for this high-rise building adjacent to the New York Skyline and Paulus Hook Historic District. This condominium is aimed to provide great amenities for its tenants, including a common meeting room, gym, common landscaped rooftop with skyline viewing areas and private valet parking with 123 spaces.
In order to step down to the lower scale urban fabric, a smaller scale residential loft building is placed next to this new post-tensioned poured-in-place concrete structure. The exterior was designed to respond to the adjacent context within the historic district, while utilizing a variety of different contemporary exterior building materials such as zinc, back-lit translucent glass, and stainless steel in conjunction with brick, granite, and cast stone, relating to adjacent buildings including the historic post office.
