James N. Lindemon

Jim's early career included the design of the largest public school complex in the United States (4,800 students / 744,000 sq. ft.), the design of the Seeley G. Mudd Biology Research Laboratory at Johns Hopkins University, and 30 other public school, library and University projects throughout Maryland.

In 1977, James N. Lindemon AIA Architecture and Design was begun, with a concentration on urban development. The basic mission of that young company was to encourage development within the existing urban centers of Baltimore, and Annapolis, and then in Jersey City, New Jersey. Under Jim's leadership, the firm evolved to include five (5) partners with expertise in architecture, historic restoration, engineering and urban design.

The firm remains firmly committed to urban development. After 40 years in business, 3,500 projects and billions in construction value, the firm has honored its mission and has never performed a rural development project. The firm has however restored many historic buildings and places in rural settings and worked to preserve farmland and open space while concentrating on urban development.

John T. Winckelmann

John Winckelmann has been responsible for the successful execution of a wide range of range of project types, primarily within the urban context of northeast New Jersey.

He specializes in renovation, restoration, adaptive reuse, urban in-fill new construction and affordable & special-needs housing. John has extensive successful experience in navigating projects through municipal and state review agencies, including the State Historic Preservation Office, NJ Historic Trust, NJDHS, NJHMFA and HUD.

In collaboration with a number of community-based affordable housing and urban enterprise sponsors, John has helped to create scores of new or upgraded housing units, cultural venues and small business opportunities in urban neighborhoods, utilizing a mix of public and private funding sources, including Historic & Investment Tax Credits, CDBG and HOME funds.

Alice L. Deupree

Alice handles roles as both our office administrator and Principal Architect. She has been involved in a wide range of project types and is skilled in the effective coordination and supervision of multi-disciplinary project teams. She develops physical conditions surveys and assessments, preservation plans, schematic design studies for adaptive reuse and rehabilitation, master plans and designs for new construction.

Her experience includes extensive knowledge of Construction Code and Accessibility requirements, she has provided code review and code analysis for numerous projects. Alice is a LEED BD+C Accredited Professional and she continuously brings to the team an energetic attitude and an extensive knowledge of new sustainable solutions.

Eli D. Martin

Mr. Martin is a founding member of the firm and has extensive experience in the public and private sectors in all aspects of architecture and urban design. Eli has been involved in large-scale neighborhood and community planning projects.

Many of these projects have centered upon his involvement in the establishment of redevelopment areas, master plans, the establishment of bulk standards, development and design guidelines. He has designed new, market-rate housing and has successfully adapted older, historic buildings for cultural and residential reuses. 

These efforts have often resulted in the creation of mixed-income housing opportunities, increased retail and community facilities, and improved access to public transportation. His expertise in the use of the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit Program has resulted in the creation of hundreds of units of new housing.


Peter Krenicki

Peter is responsible for executing projects from initial conception and existing conditions surveys through design and construction document development, including bidding and construction administration. Design and technical detailing for the adaptive re-use of existing structures, historic preservation and new construction are his primary areas of expertise.

Peter has had extensive involvement with several award winning restoration projects over the last three decades including the Club at Dixon Mills, the restoration and adaptive re-use of the historic power plant structure at the Residences at Dixon Mills. He is particularly adept at solving complex building design problems with respect to historic preservation, adaptive re-use projects and additions thereto, as well as new construction.

Stephen Ginesi

Stephen has more than thirty years of experience in a variety of building types including municipal facilities, multi-family, hospitality, commercial and historic preservation. His involvement on these projects has ranged from the preparation of conceptual drawings through design and construction documentation, culminating in construction management services.

At lwdmr Architects, Stephen has used this experience to minimize disruptions in the construction phase and to effectively ensure project conformity.
