Orange, New Jersey
The advent of a direct link from Orange, NJ, to New York’s Pennsylvania Station by NJ Transit provided the impetus to create new development opportunities within this aging urban community. Working with residents and community stakeholders and elected officials, LWDMR prepared a special Transit Oriented Redevelopment Area to allow for the revitalization of the downtown area served by Orange Station.
Design guidelines and standards were prepared, as well as concept and schematic design for more than 250 mixed-income housing units and retail opportunities within the neighborhood. The 100-unit Phase I was the recipient of Low Income Housing Tax Credits.
