The historic Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal (CRRNJ), a grand setting for much of New Jersey's transportation history in the northeast, sits prominently at the north end of the park. The terminal was significantly damaged by the flood waters & wind of Superstorm Hurricane Sandy & was closed to the public. lwdmr’s work to restore the terminal included assessment of existing conditions, evaluation of options & recommendations for restoration, replacement & repairs.

The existing lightning protection system was repaired & upgraded as required to meet current requirements. Slightly sloping built-up roof areas were replaced with new SBS modified bitumen roofing. Work required on the windows varied by location, but generally included replacement of the lower sash, frame repairs & reconstruction, sill repairs & replacement, stop & trim replacement, hardware repairs & replacement, re-glazing, prep & painting. Many doors were torn from their frames, & thus require replacement as well as reconstruction of the assemblies that framed them.
